Feel the Power of Home

Power of Home

Are you looking for resources to help you make home repairs? Did you use an Ohio Housing Finance Agency program when purchasing your home? Then we have a resource for you! Power of Home was created in December of 2020 to help OHFA customers access resources to help them make repairs to their homes. In February 2025, the program launched a free, open access website available to all homeowners in the state of Ohio.

In partnership with the John Glenn College of Public Affairs and OSU Extension at The Ohio State University, Power of Home gives all homeowners access to search more than 300 vetted Ohio programs for local home repair grants and loans, counseling services, and an affordable home improvement loan from Huntington Bank®.

There are two parts to Power of Home. The first is the Ohio Home Repair Resource Lookup, a free, online search tool to find local programs that help pay for home repair, maintenance, and energy costs. The second is the Home Improvement and Repair Loan, offered by Huntington Bank. It helps homeowners finance their improvements, energy efficiencies, or address unexpected housing expenses.

As of September 30, 2024, 3,788 Ohio homeowners enrolled in Power of Home. Of these, 1,328 were first-time homebuyers that used OHFA's homebuyer programs.

The program continues to evolve to meet the everchanging needs of Ohio homeowners. A survey will be released in the near future to assess how homeowners are using the program and what changes can be made to better meet the needs of Ohio homeowners.
