Previous Ohio Housing Conference Overview
The 2021 Ohio Housing Conference, "Moving Forward with New Perspective," went virtual for a second consecutive year, drawing over 700 attendees seeking opportunities to discover best practices and collaborate with their peers. This premier affordable housing industry event, held on Wednesday, December 1 and Thursday, December 2, has been hosted for the past 24 years by Ohio Housing Finance Agency and Ohio Capital Corporation for Housing. Together, we were able to improve the flow of the conference by making modifications based on last year's feedback such as shorter sessions and an earlier afternoon end time. Now that this year's conference has concluded, we plan to examine what worked and what may need improvement as we think ahead to next year.
Our two plenary sessions touched subjects important to the current state of affordable housing. Rapid Fire: State and Federal Housing hosted a panel that explored how we have responded to challenges and new policies amid the pandemic, economic slow-down, and political changes. On the second day, our plenary, Toward a More Perfect Union: Housing for Equity and Inclusion hosted corporate and organizational leaders as they discussed research, ideas for change in public policy, business practices and community partnerships that push toward dismantling inequitable systems and creating effective institutional change.
