Target Area Description
Established in 1797, Franklinton is the oldest settlement in Central Ohio. The neighborhood is located just west of downtown and the Scioto River. Historically, the eastern portion of the neighborhood was made up of commercial and industrial uses while the western portion was residential in nature. Today, the neighborhood is seeing an influx of investment and development, primarily in the form of new residential and commercial uses in the eastern area. The neighborhood has a distinct focus on the arts which can be seen in everything from building design to the presence of artist coworking spaces.
