The completion of Knowlton Place brings 56 units of affordable housing to Cincinnati's Northside neighborhood. The site was previously a blighted, industrial property that was targeted by the neighborhood and City of Cincinnati for redevelopment. More than $40 million of public and private investment have now gone into this part of the Northside neighborhood, including market-rate residential housing and commercial and retail spaces. With the addition of Knowlton Place, the neighborhood continues to grow and bring an ever-increasing diversity of ages, incomes and backgrounds to the area.
Knowlton Place held its grand opening in September 2017. The building received LEED Silver certification and includes secured entrances, laundry facilities and storage areas. Residents have access to social services, clinic services, spiritual services, a community room and fitness area. Because of the building's central location, residents have the ability to walk to nearby services and amenities, or they can utilize transportation services provided by the project to run errands, attend community events or go to medical appointments.
