OHFA UPDATE - PAGE 6 - 2022 THIRD QUARTER AN UPDATE: SAVE THE DREAM OHIO Over the last year, OHFA has been administering the Save the Dream Ohio program, which helps Ohio homeowners facing foreclosure and/or who cannot afford to pay their mortgage payments or other related housing costs as a result of financial hardship caused by the coronavirus pandemic. The state of Ohio was awarded $280 million from the U.S. Department of Treasury through the Homeowner Assistance Fund for the program. As of our June 30, 2022, and our most recent quarterly report to the US. Department of Treasury, we have helped more than 6,400 households through both the Mortgage Assistance and the Utility Assistance Plus components of the program. Here's the breakdown of the amount of assistance that has be provided. MORTGAGE ASSISTANCE 6,856 unique households $26,793,22 in Assistance UTILITY ASSISTANCE PLUS 4,581 unique households $8,310,956 in Assistance OHFA will be submitting its quarterly report to the US Dept. of Treasury in mid-November and will update the program dashboard at that time. To qualify for the Save the Dream Ohio program, a household must: • Be a homeowner with primary residence in Ohio; • Have experienced a financial hardship, loss of income, or increase in expenses related to the COVID-19 pandemic; • Meet the annual income eligibility threshold, which is $147,600 for a family of four (a complete income chart can be found on the program website ) . The Save the Dream Ohio program runs through September 30, 2025 or until the funds are depleted, whichever comes first.
