OHFA 2022 Second Quarter Agency at a Glance
OHFA UPDATE - PAGE 6 - 2022 SECOND QUARTER OFFICE OF PUBLIC AFFAIRS With the spring Single Family advertising campaign underway, the Office of Public Affairs continued to promote OHFA programs through blog posts and on social media. One of the key initiatives in the second quarter was National Homeownership Month in June. Partnering with the Ohio Department of Commerce, the Communications team shared resources available to potential home buyers through a news release as well as on social media. On the Stories of Home blog , the team shared more information on the Move to PROSPER program in central Ohio and the Save the Dream Ohio program. In addition, a media kit was developed to help our partners promote Save the Dream Ohio. The kit includes social media posts and graphics, news releases, a newsletter article, and fact sheets. All these materials can be found on the Homeowner Assistance Fund webpage . The Office also is developing a paid advertising campaign that will launch in the third quarter. The Outreach Team held 23 events to promote OHFA homebuyer programs in the second quarter with the majority being online courses or live webinars. Nearly 45% of the attendees of our trainings were Real Estate Agents. Jon Duy also participated in the EmpowerOne Virtual Housing Fair in April, outlining OHFA’s programs and answering viewer questions about homeownership. He also was a guest on the Eye on Community program on UrbanOne Radio in Columbus. In the second quarter, the Office continued to monitor housing policy discussions in the General Assembly, specifically HB560, which would create a state low income housing tax credit, and the work of the Federal Subsidized Housing Study Committee, which is reviewing the tax evaluation of affordable housing developments. Hearings were held on both initiatives but no further action was taken before the General Assembly recessed in June. And, as the quarter drew to a close, planning and preparations for the 2022 Ohio Housing Conference went into full swing. Once again in person, the Conference will be held November 29-30 in Columbus.
