2021 Second Quarter Agency at a Glance

OHFA UPDATE - PAGE 5 - 2021 SECOND QUARTER OFFICE OF MULTIFAMILY HOUSING Now that it is officially summer, OHFA’s Compliance division staff eagerly anticipates returning to the road to conduct physical inspections. IRS COVID-19 waivers are set to expire on September 30, 2021, so the Compliance team expects to resume physical inspections of buildings, common areas, vacant units and occupied units in late summer. The Compliance division is wrapping up its file reviews. Thank you again to our partners for your patience and flexibility as we continued to perform file audits over the last six months, which puts us in a better position to focus on physical inspections soon. As we prepare to resume physical inspections, we strongly encourage our partners to update their contacts in the DevCo Online system with any changes that may have occurred within your organization or projects. This ensures that OHFA has the most up-to-date contacts to use on all OHFA correspondence. Having accurate and up-to-date information is critically important to ensure notification of and access to upcoming audits. This information is essential to both your operations and agency operations within the OHFA Inspection system; therefore, we also encourage our partners to implement an internal process to update contacts in DevCo. Remember to check out OHFA’s upgraded DevCo Help Desk , which recently added an OHFA Inspection Help Desk option. Users have three options when using the Help Desk to submit an inquiry: DevCo, Compliance and Inspection. As a reminder, the Inspection option allows partners to submit OHFA Inspection system specific inquiries, which enables our team to direct those inquiries quickly to the appropriate staff person, thereby streamlining our responses. On April 1, 2021, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development released its updated HOME and NHTF Rent and Income Limits, currently posted on the OHFA website . OHFA also posted the updated Annual HOME & NHTF Rent and Occupancy Report , previously referred to as the HOME Rent Approval Form. If your project has HOME or NHTF funding, please remember that this form must be completed and returned to the Compliance division by email at HOMERA@OhioHome.org no later than June 30, 2021. Compliance division staff are excited to hire three Housing Examiner Trainees in the near future. If you have any feedback for the Compliance division, please email Athena Lunsford at Compliance@ohiohome.org . We look forward to seeing our partners in the field soon!
