OHFA 2023 First Quarter Agency at a Glance
In the first quarter of calendar year 2023, the Ohio Housing Finance Agency (OHFA) has been busy supporting the mission to open the doors to an affordable place to call home. The Office of Research and Analytics has been analyzing data from a wide variety of sources to evaluate the current housing landscape and inform OHFA’s strategic priorities for the development of the Fiscal Year 2024- 2025 Annual Plan. It ’s also time to update OHFA’s Legislative One-Pagers and District Maps, which happens every two years to coincide with the legislature’s cycle. Despite the increased interest rates and low inventory, the number of loan applications to the Office of Single Family Housing has gone above and beyond expectations with 895 reservations. Since January, the team has provided live webinars and in-person trainings to 400 mortgage professionals and signed two new lending partners as interest in OHFA’s programs continues to grow. The Office of Multifamily Housing reorganized to accommodate the increased volume of projects being submitted. In addition to planning for the new Qualification Allocation Plan, OHFA staff are also preparing the guidelines for the 4% Bond Gap Financing and Housing Development Gap Financing programs. With the 2023 audit season underway, Compliance team members are traveling throughout Ohio to complete its assessments. The Compliance team is also reviewing 1,800 Annual Owner Reports, updating programs guidelines based on new U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development rules and standards, and registering individuals for in- person and virtual trainings.
