OHFA UPDATE - PAGE 6 - FIRST QUARTER The Residential Lending team continues to be productive, reviewing files in 24-48 hours and doing our best to stay engaged with our lending partners in this virtual world. Although production has been lower than we would normally see during this time of year, we are seeing an increase in reservations of late. We believe the increase is largely due to lowering our rates, thanks to our Capital Markets department. It has been more than five years since OHFA made any updates to our programs. OHFA staff is exploring and researching our program offerings to determine if changes would benefit future homeowners. OFFICE OF SINGLE FAMILY HOUSING RESIDENTIAL LENDING UPDATE ERIN HIGGINS RESIDENTIAL LENDING MANAGER The Housing Preservation team answered more than 2,000 calls and 1,100 emails from December 2020 through February 2021. Foreclosure prevention and rental assistance questions comprised 19% of calls; single-family inquiries were 39%. Emails were mainly requests for lien releases and subordinations. The Neighborhood Initiative Program has now reimbursed demolition costs on 17,381 blighted houses and only $3 million remain in the program. Eleven land banks are still working on demolitions. NIP recently hit a significant milestone: 5,000 parcels have been demolished, greened and reimbursed. In many cases, these former eyesores and dilapidates structures are now serving other uses like side lots, community gardens, infill housing or other municipal projects. Lender Management enrolled six new mortgage companies. Currently, 148 lenders participate in our Homebuyer Programs. This fiscal year, nearly half of our lenders (72) delivered at least one loan this fiscal year. We continue to see strong interest in our programs from our lender partners.
