OHFA 2021 First Quarter Agency at a Glance

OHFA UPDATE - PAGE 2 - FIRST QUARTER COMMUNICATIONS AND MARKETING UPDATE DORCAS TAYLOR JONES CHIEF COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER Where will YOU Race for a Place (to Call Home)? We’re keeping the same date: April 17, 2021. We’re keeping the same time: 9 am. We’re just changing locations. That’s where you come in. Run or walk on your favorite trail. Or in one of Ohio’s beautiful state parks. Or, if you prefer, your 5K can be completed on your treadmill. This year the Race for a Place (to Call Home) happens wherever you are. OHFA leaders along with Race co-hosts, Ohio Capital Corporation for Housing, decided to plan a virtual event this year to keep our many participants safe, while still carrying out our goal to raise funds for deserving organizations working with vulnerable populations that often have severe housing needs. Last year’s planned recipients will receive the proceeds from this year’s virtual experience. The organizations are as follows: Cleveland/ Cuyahoga County Continuum of Care agencies , Neighborhood Properties-Toledo , and the Athens/ Hocking/Vinton County Mental Health Board . These organizations serve single adults, youth, families, survivors of domestic violence, and those with mental health needs. Many things have had to change to accommodate the realities of living within a pandemic, but OHFA and OCCH’s commitment to housing issues remains the same. The Race is yet another way our organizations can continue to propel the message that affordable, safe housing is a desperate need in communities across the state, while providing funding to organizations to help them get people housed in various ways. So join us . From the treadmill, the park, the neighborhood trail. You are making a difference. We’re looking forward to seeing social media posts from Race supporters and participants. Follow us on social media at @ohiohousing and include #Race4Place with your posts and pictures.
