OHFA UPDATE - PAGE 9 - NOVEMBER 2018 Fall 2018 Employee of the Quarter Billie Corson Controller, Office of Finance As Controller, Billie’s position in the Agency is very unique and requires her to spend a lot of alone time working independently. She must keep current on accounting standards, software, news bulletins, best practices and more. Billie is also responsible for managing staff who carry out the Agency’s budgeting, accounts receivable and accounts payable functions. One of her primary responsibilities is ensuring that the Agency is prepared to successfully complete the financial audit and federal single audit on time with the receipt of an unmodified opinion. External stakeholders and customers remark on her willingness to assist whenever she is able, and they regard her as an expert within OHFA’s Office of Finance. She is seen as reliable source of information and a great leader and mentor to fellow Agency staff. Billie began her career with OHFA as a college intern in the Office of Finance. Over her nearly 20 years of experience at OHFA, Billie’s even-keeled personality has allowed her to develop and sustain healthy working relationships with numerous employees and customers. Simply put, Billie is viewed by her peers as one of the most easygoing, engaging and knowledgeable individuals within OHFA. She is truly an inspiration to all who have spent time with her, and OHFA is better as a result of her work.
